1. Acceptance of These Terms

By using Hourglass, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. About Hourglass

Hourglass is a personal focus and app-protection tool that can help you organize distracting apps, create schedules, start protection manually, apply hard locks or time limits, and review your own focus activity.

3. Apple Screen Time Limitations

Hourglass depends on Apple frameworks including Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity. The app cannot override iOS itself or guarantee protection if required permissions are removed or system behavior changes.

The owner of an iPhone may still uninstall Hourglass, revoke Screen Time authorization, change device settings, or take other actions outside the app that Hourglass cannot prevent.

4. Strict Mode

Strict mode is intended to provide the strongest early-unlock resistance available inside Hourglass. It is not a device-owner lock and does not make protection impossible to bypass at the operating-system level.

5. Time Limits

Time-limit behavior depends on Apple’s Device Activity threshold reporting. Hourglass may configure a shared allowance across a selected group or, where supported, an allowance for each individually selected app. Once iOS reports a configured threshold as reached, Hourglass can apply the corresponding protection.

Apple does not provide Hourglass with a continuously accurate live value for remaining app-usage minutes, so a protection-window countdown refers to the schedule window unless explicitly stated otherwise.

6. User Responsibility

You are responsible for selecting apps, categories, schedules, limits, strictness levels, and other settings appropriate for your own use. Hourglass is a productivity tool and does not guarantee improved focus, reduced screen time, productivity, health, academic, employment, or other personal outcomes.

7. Notifications

Notifications are provided as a convenience and may not arrive at an exact time or at all. Delivery depends on iOS permissions, device settings, battery conditions, and other factors outside Huanelia Studio’s control.

8. Focus History and Early-Unlock Reasons

Hourglass may record focus-session outcomes and early-unlock events to help you review your own activity. You are responsible for the content of any reason or note you enter.

9. App Availability and Changes

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features, design, pricing, or availability of Hourglass at any time. Apple may also change the APIs or platform behavior on which Hourglass depends.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Hourglass, interfere with its operation, use it for unlawful purposes, or violate applicable laws or third-party rights.

11. Intellectual Property

Hourglass, including its design, branding, text, layout, features, and related content, is owned by Huanelia Studio or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

12. Privacy

Your use of Hourglass is also governed by the Hourglass Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

Hourglass is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Huanelia Studio disclaims warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free protection, compatibility, accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Huanelia Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of Hourglass, including missed protection windows, notification failures, Screen Time permission changes, operating-system behavior, or reliance on app status information.

15. Third-Party Services

Hourglass interacts with Apple platform services such as Screen Time frameworks, App Store distribution, notifications, device backups, and related system services. Those services are controlled by Apple and may be subject to Apple’s own terms and policies.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Hourglass after updated Terms are published means you accept the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Singapore, unless another law is required under mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country or region.
